Q: We had sex before marriage, should we get married?
Q: We had sex and I got pregnant, must we get married?

A: Fornication and marriage are two totally different things. The former is a sin from the devil and the latter is holy created by God. If you get/got pregnant after fornicating marriage is not the next step. REPENTANCE IS! Marriage is joined by God, sex comes after.

Fornication is consummating what God has not joined.

Fornication is a sin. Jesus came to call sinners to repentance. If you love Jesus, repentance is what should be in your mind.

Marriage is when a man and a woman, willfully IN THEIR HEARTS FOLLOWED BY CONFESSION WITH THEIR MOUTHS AGREE (BEFORE GOD IN JESUS NAME) to be husband and wife. (In brackets coz the bible recognizes marriages formed before one comes to salvation - I Corinthians 7:12-14).

Genesis 2:24 - Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Matthew 19:5 - And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

So if you had sex without making a covenant to be husband and wife, you fornicated, you did not get married.

To get married, the first step is repentance. Second step is seeking the will of God if you were called to celibacy, to marry the father of your child or another man.

God speaks in many ways. Pregnancy out of fornication is not one of the ways He leads us into marriage.

Ths sin of fornication is not washed away by marriage but by the redeeming blood of Jesus upon repentance.

Having joined yourselves in a sinful soul-tie that tie needs to be broken in Jesus name.

1 Corinthians 6:16 - What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

Thereafter, individually seek the will of God regarding serving Him. Not just your relationship. I broaden the scope because marriage is one of the ways we serve in the kingdom of God.

When husbands love their wives like Jesus loves the church and when wives submit to their husbands as the chruch ought to submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, God is glorified and by so doing such marriages draw unbelievers closer to the God of working marriages.

As you cut the soul-tie in the spiritual realm by renouncing the unholy union, maintaining a physical distance would be helpful as you seek the will of God, unless the Lord instructs you to continue meeting and /or communicating.

The decision to keep a phyical distance is not meant to bring hurt to one or both of you but it is for the purpose of consecrating yourselves to hear from God.

It calls for taking a personal examination of your spiritual walk with God, rededicating yourselves to serving and worshipping God in Truth and in Spirit and allowing his good, acceptable and perfect will to be done.

Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

In the case of a pregnancy out of fornication, the decision to get married should come after seeking the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.
